Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 4.1.2; en-us; SCH-I535 Build/JZO54K) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/534.30)

Does anyone in Utah Co. Listen for private calls on the UCAN system? My pro 106 alarms me when it catches on but I never hear any convesation on in. I have a wild card set up in the private calls. Is this right? Am I missing something or is there not very many private calls going on here?

I'm almost willing to bet that they're not allowed. The three big systems I'm around (Charlotte Regional, NC VIPER & SC Palmetto 800) either do not have them programmed to be allowed on the back-end of the system, or the subscribers aren't programmed to allow it. It is a major resource hog for large statewide systems, and is becoming less necessary with the popularity of cellphones.

You can set your PRO106 to alarm for wildcards and setup a private wildcard for only radio-to-radio transmissions. I have mine setup that way for a small town nearby. It's a 5 channel analog system for 3 talkgroups (so plenty of capacity remaining). The police radios can private call, but they've been digital encrypted for a few years now.

I listen to private calls all the time using Trunker and I know that the Pro-106 can monitor them, I'm just not sure how.

Either setup a wildcard object for the trunked system and set that object to private or figure out the RID(s) you want to listen to and plug those in as a private object in the TSYS so it will only unmute for private calls involving that radio.

I have heard a few in Utah county over a few years. Short and nothing interesting.

So it sounds like there isn't a whole going on with the private calls in Ut. Co. I have got my laptop free again so i thing i will try and run unitrunker with my pro-95 and Pro-106 together to see what i can come up with. Thanks for the help. Not to high jack my thread but i can use my Pro95 for input from the control channel and use unitrunker to control my Pro-106 is that corect?
