Don't know about handhelds but I use the 780xlt and the 796D. Both are installable in my car depending on if I want to hear Digital I-calls or not. A BC246T would be a good choice if you have to get a new radio might as well get on that has the close call Tech. Unidens have a Search for I-Calls, you just enter in 70000 and it finds and displays the ID so you can save it to add to a scan list later.

The BCD396T is the _only_ scanner which does I-Calls on P25 digital systems.

That's Funny, I listen to P25 I-Calls daily on my 796D. Go figure. Tulsa does use some P25 I-calls but for the most part they are still anolog I-Calls. Digital is coming but there is not that much here(on the Smartzone System) right now.

A P25 system does not have analog at all. So my statement stands...

A P25 system has a 9600 baud control channel and NEVER has analog.

3600 baud analog systems can also have P25 _audio_ but it is not called a P25 system.

Don't waste your money on digital just yet. Go with the analog in the meantime.
