Private calls

Can someone please explain how to cheat the pro 96 to get private calls? I am still learning this system and know that to 96 can recieve them but not follow them, am I right?

I was told to scan the freq. manually,. what freq?

would I just put in the freq, my local tower uses?

You put in the voice channels used by your local tower as conventional channels (i.e. not MO.) You won't get just private calls - you'll get everything. All conversations from all talkgroups on your tower plus one side of the private calls.

Not worth it.

If you want the activity that's close, you could program all of the input freqs so you would get the local units (I did this before any trunktracking scanners, but wanted to hear closeby units)
