Hi all,

I’ve been hosting.a couple of feeds for Broadcastify for a number of years and recently moved them from a pc running Radiofeed to Pi’s running Darkice. The main motivation was to simplify and reduce power consumption. One feed has been running on. Pi for a year and just moved my second feed a couple of weeks ago. Very pleased with the stability and reliability.

The main thing I miss about Radiofeed was it’s embedded server capability allowing you to direct connect with a client independent of Broadcastify. I now have the need to run a private feed from another source to only 3-4 clients. Can anyone recommend a simple audio server that will run on a pi for this?

Thanks,

Tim, N1TI

Icecast2

Here is the page that got me started:

You don’t need to do all the build/compile stuff. Sudo apt Install darkice and sudo apt install icecast2 should get you all that you need.

If you haven’t tried Zello, that is another good option for a private feed.
