private message didnt send

Dont know if this is the proper place for this post.

I sent a pm to a member who was selling a scanner (Home patrol which I bought) but when I check my "sent messages" it shows I have no messages sent.
I clicked on "contact seller" typed and sent my message. So I thought.

What did I do wrong?

I don't believe private messages that you send are saved as a default setting. You need to enable the Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default setting in your Edit Options in your User CP (located in the upper left corner). Otherwise all message you send through private messaging will not be saved in your Sent Messages.

We changed the default setting last year after this repeatedly came up. Also, be careful shutting things off that you don't realize what they do. This tends to happen often.
