Can anyone tell me what UHF crystals work in an old Realistic Pro-10 scanner? I
have tried both TMR and DIG UHF crystals, and neither work.

VHF crystals work fine, so I know the scanner is working OK.

Radio Shack scanners use a 10.7 IF crystal. As far as the crystals you wil need the UHF freqs that will want to monitor in your local area.

The Radio Shack Pro-10 will cover 148-174Mhz and 450-470Mhz.All Radio Shack crystal scanners use a 10.7 Crystal. a 10.8 IF crystal for Bearcat will not work in a Radio Shack. I also have crystals for VHF and UHF scanners. What frequencies do you need?.Please send me a pm with the frequencies you need and I will check to see if I have them. All of my crystals have been tested with a crystal tester to make sure they are working. Please advise. Thank You.

Pro-10

The PRO-10 covers VHF HIGH band (147-174 MHz) and UHF (~450 - ~470 MHz). While the VHF High Band is indeed 10.7 MHz IF, the UHF portion of this scanner is TRIPLE CONVERSION! It was the only scanner that used triple conversion for UHF when it came out (circa 1975). There were very few scanners that were triple conversion and used the same crystals. One such scanner is the PRO-16, the later 16 channel version.

During UHF reception there is a 54.7 MHz IF as well as the 10.7 MHz IF. BearCat crystals will NOT work (nor will PRO-5 crystals).

Do you know if these triple conversion UHF crystals are still available from any dealers?

I'm also looking for 154.145 in a regular Radio Shack crystal, if anyone has it.

I answered this in a private message. I do have some of them, although I will have to check them to make sure they are on frequency and good.

I have a PRO-52, PRO-27 and and old 4 channel crystal scanner (can any one tell me the model #)that I can't find the model number on. I would love to ge my hands on a few crystals to see if they still work. The freqs I need are 158.385 or 154.100 or 419.2875. While rummaging through these old radios I came up with a few old crystals they are 47.8100 (2 of these) and 47.8000 (2 of these) and 154.0700 (I know this is the Ontario Fire Marshall freq but you don't hear too much activity on theses days). If any one can use these crystal send me a pm.

Pro-27 ...

What band(s) does your scanner receive that you don't know the model number of? If UHF only it could be a PRO-5, if VHF only it could be a PRO-6. I have one of each.

Virtually all Radio Shack scanners used 10.7 MHz IF for VHF reception. So crystals in that range are fairly compatible. There are some 10.8 MHz models out there though.

I would love to ge my hands on a few crystals to see if they still work. The freqs I need are 158.385 or 154.100 or 419.2875.
PRO-27:
144 TO 174 MHz, 450 to 470 MHz, 470 to 512 MHz
so don't expect to pick up 419 MHz.

I have just about every RS user manual, but don't have one for PRO-52, so I am not even sure what bands it receives, let alone the IF frequencies.

While rummaging through these old radios I came up with a few old crystals they are 47.8100 (2 of these) and 47.8000 (2 of these)
I wonder if those are the frequencies of the crystals or the frequency they are designed to receive. If the frequency being received, they won't work in the PRO-27. But if that's the crystal frequency, that's another matter.

The following is in the PRO-27 manual. I have no clue as to whether this company even still exists:
This is crystal-controlled, rather than programmable. While RadioShack no longer carries crystals, you may find what you need by contacting International Crystal Manufacturing Co., Inc. for assistance.
