Pro-27 ...
I have a PRO-52, PRO-27 and and old 4 channel crystal scanner (can any one tell me the model #)that I can't find the model number on.
What band(s) does your scanner receive that you don't know the model number of? If UHF only it could be a PRO-5, if VHF only it could be a PRO-6. I have one of each.
Virtually all Radio Shack scanners used 10.7 MHz IF for VHF reception. So crystals in that range are fairly compatible. There are some 10.8 MHz models out there though.
I would love to ge my hands on a few crystals to see if they still work. The freqs I need are 158.385 or 154.100 or 419.2875.
PRO-27:
144 TO 174 MHz, 450 to 470 MHz, 470 to 512 MHz
so don't expect to pick up 419 MHz.
I have just about every RS user manual, but don't have one for PRO-52, so I am not even sure what bands it receives, let alone the IF frequencies.
While rummaging through these old radios I came up with a few old crystals they are 47.8100 (2 of these) and 47.8000 (2 of these)
I wonder if those are the frequencies of the crystals or the frequency they are designed to receive. If the frequency being received, they won't work in the PRO-27. But if that's the crystal frequency, that's another matter.
The following is in the PRO-27 manual. I have no clue as to whether this company even still exists:
This is crystal-controlled, rather than programmable. While RadioShack no longer carries crystals, you may find what you need by contacting International Crystal Manufacturing Co., Inc. for assistance.
