PRO 106 alert tones

while listening to APCO P1 site, can the 106 be programmed to only recieve broadcasts that are preceded by an alert tone?

There is a similar thread in the forums, and the answer is no, especially on a device the age of the Pro 106. Great in its day, still usable, but not up to today's needs.
