I have tried this several ways and I haven't gotten anywhere with it yet. In every Uniden trunk tracker I have owned you can enter partial AFS numbers and moniter each level of the fleet/sub-fleet For example if you were using a AFS number of 12-045 that was police dispatch you could just enter 12- and hear all police talkgroups. Then each additional number you would enter after that would narrow the fleets down more. If you entered the partial AFS numbers that left that particular level open to hear. I hope I am describing this where people can understand what I mean.

On the Pro 106 when I try to enter partial AFS numbers like 12- and leave the last three digits off to hear the entire fleet, the Pro 106 fills in zeros, so it enters as, 12-000. I can't get the same operation as the Uniden radios do, where if I entered 12- it would open the fleet and every transmission on the sub fleets would fill in behind the 12- If I wanted to just listen to police dispatch I used to put in 12-04_ and leave the last digit off and I got all of the dispatch, north, south, east, and west. Or if I wanted to lock out an entire fleet like the city surveyors, I could enter 07- and lock out and it locked the entire fleet out.

Am I doing something wrong with the Pro 106? Or, is it just not capable of doing the same thing with the AFS's that Uniden is?

Thank you.

Why not just covert the to decimal and use decimal talkgroups throughout for EDACS and Motorola Systems.

If you use the software to program you should be able to choose what format you want. The software will put in all the information you need.

That feature of programming ex: 04- and hearing any "04" transmissions is only on UNIDEN products like my 346XT,396XT...It is not used on GRE/RS product scanners....
