pro 106 display color

Anyone else noticed the inconsistent color on the pro-106 display ?
I bought 2 0f them when they were on sale and the first one has a really nice bright yellow color.
The second one had a dark orange color that made it look old and not as elegant.
Noticed the same thing with the pro-96's I used to own.....

YEP ! Me !

I have two and one has a brighter display than the other. And not by a little bit, but by a lot.

Also, one has dust in the display and the other does not.

I think there is a problem in the quality control department. It must be at GRE since they manufacture them for Radio Shack.

One of the big plus's for a factory mass assembly is that each and everyone produced is the same.

And then quality control is supposed to make sure that they are the same.

Someone fell asleep at the factory.

No...both scanners are set to the factory default (contrast)
It is deffinately a manufacturing / quality issue.
I happen to prefer the brighter lighter yellow color,I also think it is the color they intended it to be.
Just my opinion.
Other than that the build quality is very good & I like that r.s. / gre went with the satin finish case
rather than the shiny black like the pro-96....less marks & fingerprints show on the pro-106

I thought I saw the option in Win500, but now I think it applies to the 600, not the 500.

As far as I know you can't set the brightness...you can however set the contrast.
Just press program then F3 (the global soft key) and arrow down to contrast where you can change the
setting (default is 4).
I think the color differences probably are a result of different lots of led's used to light up the display and keyboard.....it's just a guess but would make sense as the keyboard and display use led's from the same batch and the dark orange displays I've seen also have darker orange keypad lighting.
