I remember a while back someone mentioning this. It turns out a eeprom chip can no longer retain any more information. As far as the fix, the eeprom chip would have to be replaced.
Refer back to this and the conversation about it starts at Post# 148-159
It is for the PSR 500, which is basically almost the same radio.

I seem to recall a similar conversation where someone opened the radio and re-seated all the connections and afterward no longer experienced the problem. It could just be a loose or dirty connection inside the radio such as where a ribbon cable connector attaches to a circuit board.
I tried the above on my Pro-106. After doing so my scanner's memory cleared completely. I uploaded (via Win500) my home frequencies back to the scanner. I then tried to check the V-Scanner loaded in the unit. When accessing the V-Scanners manually from the unit they are all there. However they will not load (refresh) or write (commit) from Win500 now. It now produces an error message saying "Received an error message from the scanner. Retrying the operation may be successful." I have attempted to retry it multiple times to no avail.
Any suggestions to resolve this issue and be able to access the V-Scanners from Win500 again?
