I have seen several threads about the pro-106 not closing the squelch fast enough on trunking, thus, hearing other agencies not affiliated with a talkgroup after the affiliated agencies on that talkgroup quit talking. Was wondering if anyone has been able to solve this. I had RF SQ Fadeout timeout to 9 but that didn't seem to help, i now have it at 1 and so far so good. Is there any other settings (in WIN500) that i might need to change to at least make it somewhat better?

Also, im having one more issue. Sometimes i miss the first part of a digital transmission when locked on to a specific talkgroup. Im assuming this has to do with the Digital detect timeout which i currently have set as 18? Any help/suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks!

I really don't know, maybe the FM set to yes which probably already have done. Other suggestion set the SQ Wait 1: from 10 to 8 and SQ Wait 2:From 15 to 13 just a crazy idea. One more would be the SubaudDelay which is 150 as default maybe lower that. These of course you know are all under the expert settings FUNC,PGM,F3 to get there. That's all I got for my crazy suggestions.

If it's a Motorola system, they have an EOT (End Of Transmission) tone. There may be a setting in that scanner to use that function vs standard squelch.

Yes the endtone threshold which i currently have set as 10. Maybe lower?

I dont know how that makes a difference but so far (knock on wood) it seems to be working. It hasn't done it one time yet (knock on wood). Appreciate the suggestion:)

I just realized what setting you were referring to. I have that option set to 10 in WIN500 (endtone threshold). I guess it uses that automatically when Motorola is set as the system? I don't see any option to use it instead of regular SQ (Please correct me if im wrong).

What does 10 mean? 10 sec.?, 10 msec?, 10 usec? Whatever it is, my guess is to set it as low as possible.
You know, if you just try these things rather than ask questions it would be a lot less complicated for everyone.

Im assuming its 10 msec, most everything else is msec.

I had set this to 10 from the default 80 before i ever ask questions about this.

BTW...isn't this setting just for analog endtone, not for digital?

Sorry to bring this thread back from the grave:), but just want to let everyone know what causes this in case you experience this.

After months of messing with every setting there is, i finally was able to determine what causes this issue. For some reason the "Supertrack" option is the source of the problem. Does anyone else still experience this problem? I dont like disabling "Supertrack" as it causes digital to drop quite frequently (not sure if its because my system is simulcast or what) but it does eliminate the problem i have been having. Just want to report back how i have resolved this in case anyone else has this problem.
