Hi, I am trying to program a Pro-106 scanner for my friend that just got it. I programmed my Pro-96 without a problem but I seem to be missing something.

I used the web import function for everything that I wanted. Then I uploaded it to the scanner. When I turn on the scanner it says "nothing enabled!". How do I enable it?

I did not mess around with the settings too much on Win500 because I don't know how to navigate it yet. When I go into "all objects" it shows everything I want, but nothing is "checked off". Do I need to do something there? In the scan list menu it shows Scan 01 checked in the scan column.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

EDIT: When I use the manual function and scroll through the scanner, it shows everything that I want on there, so it is on the scanner, but it continues to say "nothing enabled".

The "1" is blinking when I press scan also. I went through the program and global menus and it says that scan list 01 is enabled and has the asterisk next to it, yet is still says "nothing enabled".

Also next to the numbers where the scan lists show up it says "pri"

Don't know if any of this helps.

Thanks again.

Assuming you are talking about conventional frequencies, then using WIN500, under the CONV Objects Tab make sure that in the Scan List Map that the frequencies you want to monitor have a "1" showing in the Scan list Map. It could be another list number 2, 3 etc., but each frequency has to have a number enabled in the scan list map. If no lists are enabled with entries, the scanner will tell you it has nothing to scan.

Yup Dave, he likely used Win500 default scanlist 00 during import.

TGRP objects must be mapped to its TSYS as well.

Yes, I had the scan list set to 00. Thanks for the help. I am talking about trunked systems, and for some reason the scanner does not seem to be picking up the digital transmissions on the Pro106, but my Pro96 picks them up just fine.... They seem to have exactly the same talkgroups in them so I don't know what else could be going on.

Thanks for all the help.

What does this mean/how do I do that? Could that be the reason why it is not picking up the digital like I said in my above post?

yes

You have to map the trunk groups to the trunk system

In win500 goto tsys objects
select a trunk system in top box
you should see trunk groups in bottom box

if not you have no trunk id's assigned to the system

attach your win500 file to your next message and I'll take a look for you

When I look in "all objects" I see everything I want, but only one of them is labeled "TSYS" under type. That is "system". That ID is 00000

All of the others, dispatch, fireground 1, 2 etc etc are labeled "TGRP" under type.

When I go into TSYS objects, I only see ID 00000 "system" in the top box. Yet in the bottom box I see all of the other ids... Such as dispatch, fireground, etc.

Is that how it is supposed to be? Or should they all be TSYS?

If I can make this easier on you guys let me know how.

Thanks.

no only one trunk system
what list are the trunk groups assigned to ? (number to the right of the id)
if the numbers are 1 press 1 on keypad while scanning if 11 press func 1 ect
that should enable the trunk ids.

one tsys to many tgrp

You can send it to jjr0062@earthlink.net

Scanlist is not assigned in first picture because you failed to select a list during import of the TGRP Objects. Win500 defaults to Scanlist 00, so you must change default to any of the 20 scanlist prior to selecting OK during import.

Second picture indicates how to correct your problem. Highlight all TGRP Objects (Ctrl a) then check a scanlist number (01 - 20) on the right.

What city state county is this?

This scans on my 197. Looking at the id numbers this must be a conv trunk system?
I selected a couple of options and added color led for you. You can change the colors
If you wish. Everything looks right. After downloading to radio let me know if it scans.
You shouldn’t get the nothing enabled error. Only thing I did was reassigned the object ids
starting with the system as 0001. But that shouldn’t have caused any problem. All the trunk groups
were assigned to list 1 which was right. Not sure why you got error?

Let me know

Those talk group IDs in the file are for a Motorola Type II SmartZone system.
They are building a Astro Digital System which is not on line (testing phase).
Wonder if the CC you had entered are being used for that and another of the six
freq's is being used for the type II system.

Ive sent you a new file with list 1 as type II system using all 6 freqs
And list 2 as P25 using all 6 freqs. Load that and see if it picks up the
Type II system. You may have all 6 freqs in your pro96 and that is why you
can hear the type II on it and not the 197.

Hope that makes sense.
Let me know

Jim
