It's a bit much to try to walk someone through programming a scanner like this via forum posts, but I'll try to answer some of your questions:

I Have A Mac System,so I Can't Down Load From Web Sites That Pc Users Can.,so I Have To Do It Manually,
Welcome to the club! In my case, I use Linux. I finally decided it was worth it enough to have programming software that I set up a VMWare virtual machine so I could run an old copy of Win2K to put Win500 on. You might consider that option, for future ease.

what Does I.d.mean,what Does System Mean, what Does Tag Mean, and What Is Wildcard(examples Of These Would Be Helpful)..are Any One These Optional,

I assume you are trying to enter talkgroups for a trunked system. (Press PGM then NEW then TGRP.)

The ID line is the talkgroup ID (a numerical string) you want to hear with that entry. If you look at the system listing in the RR database, the first column is the ID (also written TGID for "talkgroup ID").

The Tag is just a plaintext name it will display when receiving traffic on that talkgroup. Otherwise you would have to memorize what each TGID is, in order to know who was talking.

A Wildcard is simply a TGRP entry made with 'wildcard' in the place of the ID. This is a special entry that will let you hear any talkgroup that is active on the system. You could just enter that one TGRP, and hear everything on the associated trunking system, but of course wouldn't have any text tags telling you what they are - the scanner would just list the TGID. More commonly, users will enter their most-used or favorite TGIDs explicitly, so they can use text tags, then add the wildcard at the end for when they want to pick up any other (possibly new) traffic that might come along.

also When I Try To Enter A New County Down Here In S.w. Fl. It Deletes The One I Put In And Replaces That One With The New One..can I Put New Counties Ect Into Scan Lists(1 To 20) And How Is That Done.........many Thanks To All Who Answer And Happy New Year...

This is where it gets hard via forum posts... It shouldn't overwrite old entries, unless you EDIT the current entry instead of creating NEW. Not sure what else you might be doing wrong there.

You can put any "object" you create in the scanner into a scanlist. (With the exception of the TSYS trunking system object, which you don't scan directly anyway - you scan the TGRP objects instead.) Indeed, they can be in ANY or even ALL scanlists. When you first create the object, or when you edit an existing one, the top line of the menu says 'Scan Lists'. To the right will be a number, 01 thru 22. The left/right arrows step through the scanlist numbers. If there is an asterisk (*) beside the number, that scanlist is active. Press SEL to turn a given scanlist on/off.

Also note: Activating 21 on that line will put the object in the "Favorites" scanlist, and 22 will put it in the "Skywarn" list.

Hope that helps you get started...

Wow.... Umm... OK... A lot of those questions (what is a System, what is a Tag etc etc) are in the Owners Manual. I know a lot of people like to skip that stuff and move ahead in the program but if this is all new to you it likely wouldn't hurt taking a little time reading thru that stuff and seeing if it makes sense. If it doesn't, by all means there are lots of people here to help with the specifics, but most of those questions are answered in the manual.

Best to read the owners manual to answer those "What is" questions. WOW, you picked a heck of a Scanner to program manually. I tried to do the same thing and Almost traded it for a Pro-96 in my frustration. After using Win500 I am glad I kept the radio. I know this is of no help to you. My Suggestion is also, set up a dual boot for windows to run. or barrow a Windows based laptop and software program the radio, After you do this, the Instructions to Manually program the radio will make a lot more sense. The Pro-106 owners manual is difficult to follow. I'd suggest downloading a copy from Radio Shack and reading it from your PC. at least the Font will be bigger and easier to follow than that joke of a owners manual that comes with it.
