I just bought a pro 106 and I have programmed it using ARC500 software. I am trying to monitor Sheboygan county WI which is a motorola type II. The scanner works correctly off and on but the problem I am having is that some times the scanner picks up that someone is trying to talk but it get stuck I guess I would say. It will display the TG id and the led light will light up and also the tag will show who it is but nothing is broadcasted and the TG id will kind of flicker like it is stuck. This is a rebanded system and I think it's having the same problem my pro 164 was having when I first got it and programmed it by hand. I was told I need the software in order to make it work correctly because of the rebanding. My pro 164 works perfectly now.

I tried using the rebanding calculator but and adjusted it by -15 but not sure if that was correct. The scanner is still having the issue after trying this.

I bought the 106 because my hometown in MN uses digital now and I want to be able to listen to them when I go there to visit.

Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong? I don't have anything set to priority.

Here is a video of what it's doing. The talking you hear is my pro 164 next to the 106. The 106 is not broadcasting voice. You can see after the first conversation the frequency pops up on the 106 when the next transmission starts then the 106 can be heard. Then the next time a transmission comes it gets stuck again.

Bubba, first indicator of your problem is in the picture. Top line shows 2 bars, thus decode is to low for decent coms. Another antenna or possibly attenuate the signal to stop other electronic interference may help.

Also, did you set T-Tables for system? Click Load Reband Table as in second image then OK then save and reload to scanner.

Say no more Bubba !!! My 106 does the EXACT same thing. Has nothing to do with rebanding as no one has rebanded in my city. It drives me F***ING nuts !!! It just hangs on and ID, no voice coming through. It'll show 5 solid bars or the flickering just like in your video. I've tried many things and the G or GA does nothing. Reducing the DigIntPrim does not help either. Sometimes I get one side of the conversation, say, the officer, but you know the dispatcher IS replying yet I don't hear it, the radio just hangs, or sticks. The officer replies saying "Copy that" and I sarcastically say to myself "Yeah well...I DIDN'T !" I also have a 246 and PSR 300 scanning the same systems and they don't do this at all, NEVER with these two radios. It makes no difference - analog or digital system. I posted this problem some time ago but never did get a reply.

The PSR 500 has had many posts about the loose screw inside that connects to the antenna. I have not opened up my 106 and if it's not the loose screw I wouldn't know what else to look at in there. The flickering does seem like something is not making full connection, like a loose speaker wire on a stereo system, only we don't 'hear' that crackling noise. I'm gonna open up my 106...with a screwdriver as opposed to using the wall.

It's a video, not a picture.

I did not do it in that window. I can't seem to find it. I just went up to options than went to rebanding calculator. Maybe I did it wrong.

Yhr control/alt in data base reflect reband so just enter them as they are. However, Motorola trunking require tables set so the active control frequency can find the correct voice frequency to match with the talkgroup when user keys up.

Under Edit T-Tables column on target TSYS line, double click the box and perform operation in above image.

Note: after they are set, the T-Tables column will change from Default to Custom.

Well just got done doing this and have been listening for a bit. Sure seems like it did the trick. I have been listening to both scanners and the pro 106 hasn't missed anything and hasn't gotten hung up.

Thanks a ton fmon for leading me to the problem it's greatly appreciated!!!!
