i tried calling radio shacks 800 number as was advised to go thu my local store for ordering......i called these guys and ordered 2 and are being shipped out today..

Is your speaker broken or just wont talk? OR is your ear jack not releasing , if your jack is not releasing
there is a way to fix that your self.

dropped the scanner in water speaker crackles, no sound. its been dried out and checked for any damage to the boards.

OK ! , a couple things , Did you take your scanner apart to dry out ? did you put the scanner in rice to dry out ? rice will soak up any moister but be sure to COVER the entire scanner in rice. Then after all that, take a test light & see if there is any juice to the speaker. Just a thought !! Good luck .

yes i completely disassembled it and place it in a Tupperware container with a lid sealed and placed it on top of a lamp shade with the lamp on for 36 hours, it was completely dry....lol. i will check connection with a test light...thanks
