Pro-106 Two Questions.....

I have two questions about Pro-106 Programming. I recently purchased a used pro 106 that came with a usb cable, (part# 20-047) which has a list of scanners that it should work with, and a list of scanners that it will not work with. The Pro106 is not on either list. Is this the proper USB cable? My second question si, I did attach the cable to my PC, it did download and install the drivers, but it doesn't appear to be working. I've tried it with the 3 inch cable and without. Any pointers there would be appreciated. Thanks in advance to any useful information.

Take a look at the all-things-GRE expert's Cable Page.

Go into device manager under ports, remove/uninstall the port.

Now use the included cd to install the correct driver. Many times windows on programming cables install the wrong driver.
Then & only then after the cd drivers are installed, plug in the cable.

Dont use the cable attachment for the 106.
