I discovered that the scanner defaults to 806mhz if I enter anything between
801.5 and 804.0 mhz. Outside this range is ok

The spec. (users guide) says covers 764 - 806mhz with 3.125khz steps.

Anyone seen the same problem or have a fix?

Thanks

Here's my guess. If it is in trunking mode it will not accept those freqs. because they are the mobile freqs. and it can't track them. You can enter them as conventional freqs.

Nope, 106 will not load them as conventional either. As noted above defaults to 806.
So the GRE and 106 are not totally alike. Firmware difference?

I beg to differ, my 106 and 163 both take a conventional frequency of 765.4375 with a CTCSS tone. I have to program the 163 by hand, but, the 106 takes it with the Win500 software.

Thanks Don. Any particular reason you are aware of?
