The new PRO-106 scanner shows that Motorola Talkgroups must be in a 6 digit format (according to the ARC500 software), such as "1-65535"

Using St. Lucie County, Florida as an example, "FIRE COMM 1" is talkgroup 1264. On a local website for that area, it also lables that talkgroup in a "M6" format which is 800079

My questions are:

Can I still program it as 1264? Or do I use 800079

Does it have to be 6 numbers?

Does it have to have a dash after the first number?

I saw this on the software and became a little confused. Maybe someone can help me and I feel silly for asking such a question, but this kinda stopped me for a moment.

I am traveling to that area and I would like it programmed prior to getting there. Thank you!!

Just enter the 1264 and it'll be just fine. The reference to 1-65535 only means that the talkgroup ID must be between 1 and 65535.

Thank you! That makes sense now. I have no motorola systems to track in my area, but I have started programming one for vacation (St. Lucie/Martin County FL)
