Hi, I have a radioshack pro-136 and it has almost all the HAM frequencies. I am needing an antenna to be able to pick up as much radio traffic as possible. I'm a police officer and obviously want my departments freqs to be there, but also want to be able to hear just about anything that's within my range for listening pleasure. I live in an apartment so I can't have anything mounted, but there is a tree right outside my window... dipole maybe??? anyways... any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
Craig Sharp

Hi craigsharp welcome to RadioReference :)

How about a mobile antenna mounted on a rare earth magnet base? You could put that antenna on a metal surface in your dwelling,(file cabinet, fridge, cookie tin) There are some good all band antennas out there as well as band specific. Check out Scannermaster for a start.
