I'm having troubles receiving responses to dispatch. I hear dispatch talking, but I don't hear the unit talking back, but I know they are carrying a conversation. How do I solve this problem?

Are you listening to a trunked system or conventional freq's ?

Im listening to a conventional frequency.

How far are you from the dispatcher and how far from the units?

Not far a at all. Maybe 10-15 miles at the most from dispatch, and maybe a maximum of 10 miles from the units. But the range varies with the units.

If it's simplex and not a repeater the units talking back may be out of simplex or direct range. An outdoor antenna will help.
