pro-163 salem fire trunking

pro-163 wont trunk fire for salem a or b tower. like the data base is missing a freq.on it.wint thro.2 scanner and gave up .eney help thank you.

3 things to check:
1. Did you set every channel in the trunk to Motorola type?
2. Did you set the bank to Motorola?
3. Are you certain there's only one trunking system in each bank?

Salem has been re-banded and the PRO-163 needs to have custom band plans. They can only be added using a software program.

thank for the info. craig i did a on 1 b on two with a i did not no the re baned trunk sys. had to do it with pc interface program.

Salem Fire

If you don't want to go through the computer upgrade, and want a simple way...

Just monitor them in CONVENTIONAL mode.. NOT trunking. (be sure to lock and unlock the control channel as needed each day.) There should be 4-5 800 frequencies you can manually enter into your scanner. Salem Fire is on A-tower system 99% of the time. (If A goes down then they would switch to B.)

A Tower System isn't all that busy in the day, but you will hear buses, and public works at times. At night after 5-7pm, you will hear Fire almost exclusively.
