Pro 163 Trunking Question

I have a Pro-163 trunking scanner I have it programed with the State of Oklahoma 800 mhz Motorola trunked system. The question that I have is when I am not scanning and just have the scanner on a trunked channel and on the bottom line of the display different TGID's are showing up on the display what gets me is I have the bank in the open mode and when I go to scan i never hear those talk groups I also entered those talk groups in the bank and set the scanner in the closed mode still don't hear them. When I have the scanner on scan ot will stop on TG 44080 and 30224 50928 when the TG's are active.

It is because the state of OK is a mixed mode system of analog and digital TGID's. The 163 is an analog only trunktracker and cannot decode the 'D'igital or 'E'ncrypted TGID's. It will show the TGID's, but you won't hear anything on them. In fact, I did a quick look at the system, and couldn't find the TGID's you gave as examples. You may want to pose this question in the Oklahoma state forum.

Phantom TGID's

I figured out why the TGID's are showing up They are phantom id's I reinitialized the scanner deleting everything and setup one bank as motorola and I put 147.285 local ham repeater with the mode set as motorola and no antenna on the scanner and put the scanner on the channel and the phantom TGID's started showing up so it has to be the programing in the rom.
