Pro-164 Firmware update??????????

So i was looking on Radioshacks website under the system support for Pro-164 and im pretty shocked to see March 02 2009 for the firmware update! Can someone tell me if this is the fix for the Pro-164 to work fully on rebanded systems????? or do i have false hope?

jerryc6, I know that you are a "newbie" to an extent, and that may be why you did not see the other thread(s) in this forum about the Pro-164. Man alive, there must have been a real good sale on the 164 back in the day because there sure have been a lot of owners coming out an asking about getting them up and running again. Anyway, there has been a "fix" posted here. The post linked has instructions to get the 164 going...finally.

Please follow that link and the instructions in that link, then report back to us to let us know whether it worked.

The Pro-164 is good to go with the firmware update 1.06. I have tested it after buying one today and have watched it for the last two hours and there is no skipping. The best part about it, is that it is just like my Pro-97.

To anyone that is upgrading the firmware on the pro-164 make sure that you are checkint boot software first by powering the device off and powering back on and holding the pgm button down. There are two versions. If you upload the wrong one based upon your boot version it will not work.
