PRO-164 Keytop

Hi all, I own a Radio Shack PRO-164 and I have lost one of the keys somehow. The L/O key came off so now I can't lock out channels. I found the RSU number on this forum, RSU 12430682, and went to the local store today but after they spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to order it, they called some internal Radio Shack help line, and after more waiting, told me that this part can't be ordered. So, have they discontinued selling parts for this scanner?

What are my options here? Why is it so difficult to get parts for this thing?

When I get to the store in the morning, I will check on the parts availability . Parts do sell out from time to time.
