After digging around in the manual (both versions) and searching here & elsewhere, I couldn't come up with a definitive answer, so apologies if this is already addressed somewhere I just didn't find. Would it damage my Pro-18 to run it without batteries? It's on external power 99+% of the time anyway, in a vehicle. Where I have it mounted, I can see the display easily but it's not easy to remove and replace. And while replacing the SD card awhile back cured almost all of the freeze-at-power-on issues, it still happens once in a blue moon, and getting it out of there so that I can remove a battery is a pain. It would be a whole lot easier to just unplug the USB cable from the power adapter. The socket I'm using is powered direct from battery 100% of the time so no issues with power going on and off with the key.
