pro-19 DSP vs. CPU

HEllo,

can anyone provide an explanation of what is CPU, what is DSP, what are they for and what are the differences in the context of a RS pro-197 ?

Also, the CPU is the brain of the scanner containing the firmware to operate and do input/output operations, such as a computer. The DSP is the signal processor that allows you to listen to the different modes and decodes Project 25 voice.
