PRO-197 12V adapter question

I want to hook up my pro-197 to my 12V plug in my car. Is this plug Enercell 12VDC/7.5A Vehicle Power Plug with LED : Car Adapters | RadioShack.com okay? I want to use the hard wire cable that was included with the scanner.

That looks like it would be fine. Just remember to observe the polarity.

The pro-197 will pull about 1 amp at full volume.

The Pro-197 requires 12 volts when connected to automobile power. The radio is supplied with a DC cable with fuse. All that is required is for the ground or black to be connected to the vehicle chassis and the red wire connected to a 12 volt source in the vehicle. The radio requires at least 600 milliamperes.
