I have a line on a replacement for mine that went Tango Uniform, the requirement is 13.8v & 600ma. The one I can get is 12v 500ma. Suitable? Or would a 13v 800ma be better? Possible issues or concerns?

Per the manual:
Operating Voltage .......... 12-14.4 VDC, 13.8 VDC nominal, 16 VDC maximum
AC Adapter (Class 2; 12V DC; 600 mA; center tip set to positive).

I would go with the 13.8V 800 mA to ensure it has the required power. The 12v 500 mA may work, but it's just below the recommended power.

why not just run a power cord from the 197 to your DC power supply (assuming you have one in the shack)?? no muss, no fuss.
