pro 197 antenna

just got radio shack pro 197 base scanner , i'm looking to upgrade my antenna. does anyone what is good for this scanner.... thanks don

The one that comes with it does a good job. If you can get any antenna outside it will be better. Elevated 15-20 feet on a pole is even better. I have used the 26 dollar one from Radio Shack for years with good results. a loy has tio do with your terrain near your home as well.

i use the RS 800 mhz rubber duckie antenna for my 163, i use it witha right angle connector. pretty good reception, still pulls in vhf 140s
