Pro 197 Audio

I recently purchased a used Pro 197 from another member here. It works great other than an interment audio level issue. When I first turned it on the audio was extremely low. A firm tap on top of the unit and the audio if back to normal. Is there any history of noisy volume controls or cold solder joints with the pro 197? Tried searching but didn't come up with much.

Noisy volume controls is a well known issue with the 197.

I suspect that there's some sort of connection issue somewhere inside the unit. The universal "solution" so far is tapping or bumping the unit gets the volume back. I don't know if anyone has ever found anything more permanent. I know someone who is using one in a mobile application. He loses it occasionally when going over a bump and has to bump the unit again to get it back.

Spitfire, I did find that one through searching and is exactly what I am experiencing. Was hoping someone had found fix for the issue.
