I have a pro -197 that I have used for years in a simulcast area. On Indiana Project SAFE-T
It work great until the last digital change.
Now the audio does what I would describe as clipping or cutting in in out

It is possible that a tower was added that could affect your simulcast distortion. What city and county are you in? Which site or sites are you using? I have found that turning on the SuperTrack decoder algorithm seems to work better for simulcast. Turning off the Digital AGC can also help. Try turning on the attenuator. That can reduce the number of towers you are receiving and improve control channel decoding. Set your squelch as low as possible without noise. Changing the position of your scanner and reorienting the antenna and changing its length can also help. Another thing to consider is using a directional antenna. If you are using an outside antenna, disconnect it and try using the scanner antenna.
