Hello

I am listening to a MOSWIN VHF tower site in Perry County Missouri. I am only 30 miles away in Illinois so the signals are good. I can monitor this system on DSD+, Unitrunker, or SDR Trunker. All data shows that it is a P25 Phase 1 C4FM signal. I have uploaded the RR data for this site, along with TG's and wildcards into my Pro-197. I can see the signal for the control channel but I don't receive any voice what so ever. What am I missing?

thanks

Please attach your PRO-197 programming file so we can take a look at it. You will need to zip the file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file. I have ARC500, Win500, and PSREdit500.

Thank you for the reply, I have figured it out. For what ever reason, the signal I was seeing on the display is not the CC, but some kind of noise the 197 is seeing on that frequency. I am not not seeing it on any other receiver. I went to tune mode and expected to hear the data stream and didn't, it's just not there. If I hit the att key I can start to hear the data, but then its too weak to decode.

Thank you

The PRO-197 is prone to receiver overload. It sounds like there is a powerful transmitter in your immediate area which is either desensitizing the receiver or causing intermod problems. What antenna are you using?

I have a DPD Production Omni on it right now, It's going into a powered DA feeding several receivers. The 197 is the only one having issues. I'm pretty sure its a local FM broadcast tower. I'm dealing with it.

Try disconnecting the roof antenna and use the scanner mounted telescoping antenna with the attenuator off. I suspect you may be able to receive MOSWIN. The VHF sites have a good range without an outside antenna. The PRO-197 overloads a lot easier than your other scanners.

I actually did some experimenting, it was seeing a FM broadcast station well enough for close call to hit on it. I used a spectrum analyzer and found that two local FM stations were pounding in here. I put an FM trap on it and it took care of it. No more overload. I was going to try a tunable trap, but since there was two really strong ones I just used an 88-108 blanket trap and it took care of it. The signal from the Perry County tower is now is almost full scale, and very solid. Thanks for the input.
