Hi, all. For the first time, tried loading a Pro-197 v-scanner folder to main memory. I followed directions per the manual:

"Loading a V-Scanner Folder to Main Memory
1. Press FUNC, then PROG to enter V-Scanner mode.
2. Press the Load softkey.
3. Press p or q to scroll to the desired V-Scanner folder, then press
the Load softkey. [actually, up/down, not p or q].
4. The scanner will ask you to confirm that you wish to overwrite
the current contents of main memory. Press the YES softkey to
proceed, or the NO softkey to abort.
The data transfer takes approximately 4 seconds to complete."

When done, and I hit scan, get 'nothing enabled." What went wrong here? Anything I can do to get data loaded? [ I had no problems doing this with the gre psr-500 which went perfectly.] Remedies for this error msg. are not helping.

Also, there is no sub-folder (as with the psr- 500, they're listed as "SL"#).

Any help appreciated- thanks!

First, press one of the numbers to toggle a scan list on. "Nothing enabled" will display if you turn off all scan lists. If you do have a scan list enabled "nothing enabled" means there are no objects programmed or all objects are set to lock-out. I've seen the all lock out thing happen before. Clearing hit counts in software has done that to me. Just program in something. Your nothing enabled error should go away. You'll have to go through it all or use some programming software do deselect lock out.

Thanks much for the help. It seems nothing was programmed - everything empty.

However, I just tried cloning again and it worked perfectly- yay! No idea what went wrong earlier.

Best,

Alan

I recently purchased a new RS197 on sale, brought up VF4-Virginia i think, was "nothing to scan", it was empty....I put in a freqy and it started to scan that freqy, seems someone at the RS store fooled with it but it was packaged like it was never opened....

Oops- My first msg. was about loading a V-folder, but my reply later concerned cloning.

In any case, the clone was the way to go.
