Does the PRO-197 just mute the audio when it's below threshold for digital decode?. My PRO-2096 just goes to raw P25 noise when the signal is not good enough to decode. The Unidens will mute when that conditions happen. That to me is annoying when it happens to my PRO-2096.

Thanks for your help

I would guess that the 197 does the same thing as the 2096.

I have the handheld model of both (the 96 and 106), and they both do the same thing...

There may be options in the 197/106 to prevent it from happening. But if so, I haven't figured it out.

My PSR-500 mutes, when decoding is not clean. (Living in the midst of a simulcast P25 system, I get a lot of signal loss issues.)

Thanks for all the input. I would like to mute when the decode rate is bad. The P25 noise is irritating. I may have to go with a GRE.

Thanks

The 197 is made by GRE.
