I'll be replacing the EL readout backlight in a Pro-2021 soon, and I figure as long as it's open, I would put a resistor inline on one of the leads to dim it somewhat, or maybe a trimpot, to extend the life of the new backlight. Has anyone else done this? I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work. When I had my original Pro-2004 back when, I used the Dim setting exclusively, and it significantly extended the life of the light. Any suggestions appreciated in general, and a resistor value to start with. If your way is better, clue me in. Thanks in advance.
