Running a Pro 2006 witht the FULL Optoelectronics 456 along with ScanCat Gold SE.

Question: Is anybody elese running this combo and if so , I'm wondering what you might have the serial settings set to? I've tried changing mine - IE , timing, squelch rate attack, etc, but it still isn't working quite right. Works but not stopping on the frequency correctly. I have tried PREVIOUS FREQUENCY also , doesn't seem to help. Tried switching the COM Port to 19,200 (Yes within ScanCat also) but it will only scan on 9600,ANY SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED.

Oh yes I am using the following

Radio Shack USB to Serial (worked fine on others)

Samsung SENS690 Laptop with:

Windows: Windows XP5.1 (Build 2600) Service Pack 2

Memory (RAM): 496 MB

CPU Speed: 946.6 MHz

As Always , Thanks for looking , Tom (ScanDaBands)

Tom for some strange reason the last 4 lines of your message came out in a tiny font. It makes it somewhat difficult to read - and yes, I'm wearing glasses :.>>

Jim Springer can be found on the Scancat Yahoo group. Very likely he can answer your question, if you get no help here. That's a fine radio combination - particularly for milair - and I would never sell it....73s Mike

The data rate on the OS board is hardware set at dip SW 2 (closest to the transformer)
with a factory default of 9600.

1-- 2-- 3-- 4
on on on off 4800
off off off on 9600
on off off on 19200
off on off on 38400

And there are slower settings down to 75, but I doubted you'd want them.

I'm guessing yours is at the 9600 default. Set your PC port to match the OS board setting.
Start bit = 1
Data bits = 8
Parity = NONE
Stop bits = 1
