Pro-2004: PRO-2022 etc. color backlight?

I've reclaimed a PRO-2004 I lent to a friend many years ago, and not surprisingly the backlight needs replacing.

A source on ebay in the U.K. sells the EL panels in a number of colors including the stock light blue.

Has anyone tried other colors and if so, how did that turn out? Pix would be good.

White might be too bright, but orange or green might be good.

I repair somes pro 2022 backlight. I order the blue Ice from e-bay china seller and send it via e-packet. I know you can order the 12'' x 2'' inch color rebon too with the color you want. Just cut...plug and play.

I ordered three colors from the ebay U.K. seller, light blue, orange and white.

I ended up using the light blue, which is a close match to the original and is the one they say for Realistic scanners. My camera doesn't handle color matches very well, but the attached pix is pretty close.

The white and orange were a slightly different design from the light blue, and were significantly duller for some reason, hence settling for the light blue. I checked the value of resistor R703 which controls the brightness level, and it was to spec.

I also clipped one end of R702 which makes the dimmer switch backlight on or off completely.

Cool! Let us know when you make new lm mods...send pics. The pro2022 ...i order from china and the lm do is job very well.

I put a deep blue backlight in one of my 3006's. I like better than the OEM greenish EL.

That's what mine has too. I agree it looks better than the original.
