Pro-2026 mode question

Can anyone tell me if the Pro-2026 is switchable between AM and FM on all the bands? Or is it default AM on the airbands only?

I am asking because I want to purchase a second hand scanner with AM on 66-88 Mhz. (UK version)

There are a few 2026's about on the auction sites that are reasonably priced.

Unfortunately, the mode is not switchable. You are correct, mode on the air bands is AM. That means that 138-144MHz is FM-only.

PRO-2026 is dual-conversion and subject to images. You may want to consider something else triple-conversion.

Can it not be modded to make it switchable AM on all bands? I used to own a Pro-32 (many years ago) that I modded to take AM.

If not, can anyone suggest a small mobile unit that will allow 66-88 Mhz AM.

It may be possible, but I don't know if or how for this specific radio. Checked www.mods.dk which is good for this sort of thing, but doesn't show anything. There may be something out there...ask around!
