PRO-2051 EDACS Programing Help Please

I am at my wits end. I thought I should post in the Radio Shack Scanner forum *also*.

The county I live has an EDACS system (Cherry Hill & Camden both in New Jersey).
I know I have set up everything correctly & in LCN order. People on here have helped me in the NJ Forum.

I have wiped the scanner clean to factory level (default?) 3 times & still cannot get EDACS to work.

Maybe I am not "searching" correctly?

The following is my *current* set-up:
Highway, Private, Police
State: NJ
Camden's frequencies & Talk Groups in Bank 3 because Bank 1 & 2 were already pre-programmed with E2-800 frequencies (part of the 150 pre-programs?) Bank 3 was EMPTY
Camden set up under "Ed" in "LCN". (I have quad-tripled checked & did a voodoo dance to boot)

When I want to listen to a Camden frequency I press Func>E>Trunk>3>Ed>Prog F>E>Search
It will lock on to an EDACS frequency for about 5 seconds & then jumps to another frequency which is NOT EDACS.
Same thing when I try to listen to Camden's Talk Groups.

Am I searching right? Is my scanner set up correctly.
I have not re-set up the "fancy" stuff yet. I want to get this EDACS straightened out first.

BTW: I have no problems hearing the "M" frequencies which are pre-programed.

How strong is the control channel signal if you are not in EDACS trunking mode ?
Do you hear radio chatter when not in trunking mode ?
Are you hearing the 5 beeps if not in trunking mode ?
Are you at least seeing - - - - - on your display ?

Sorry for all the questions ... just need to know some basic info.

Sorry, I am a newbie at this. How would I know? A "P" keeps flashing. Does that mean anything?

Very rarely. It's mostly digital in my state/area. Only my town & the one next door is EDACS (Cherry Hill & Camden).

Are you hearing the 5 beeps if not in trunking mode ?

5 beeps? Nope! Ut oh, I'm in trouble now! Am I'm suppose to?
To be honest I've never used the scanner when not in trunking mode since the whole state is "trunked". So I tried it in the non-trunked mode & did not get the 5 beeps.
When am I suppose to hear them?

Yes!!! In trunking mode. From my understanding, those dashes have something to do w/Talk Groups?

No need to apologize. I need all the help I can get.

I noticed something else. Some of the Banks have pre-programed frequencies. When I program EDACS, I must make sure there are NO FREQUENCIES of ANY KIND in the banks. Is this correct?
