PRO-2052 Blocking Talk Groups En Masse

I've programmed the Corpus Christi trunking system into my PRO-2052, and would like to block all talk groups except the police group. There are many groups in the system, and the manual says to block those ID's that pop up as they occur (or words to that effect.) Because of the number of groups and large number of radios involved, this requires hitting "Lock Out" every time a transmission by any other group than the police comes up. It would help greatly if I could just block an entire group at once, but I've seen nothing in the manual on how to do that (keeping in mind the instruction may be there but not evident. Although fairly well written and usually easy to understand, the instructions can nonetheless be confusing.) Any help would be most appreciated.

I just found a May 11, 2002 forum entry by "fmon" that tells how to enter (and subsequently scan) only certain ID's on the 2052. Good stuff. Thanks to "fmon."

Great, ya found the procedure with only three hours of research. :wink: I use mine in ID SCAN mode for Fire/Medics, but my bride (of 44 years) scans ID SEARCH mode, guess she is hung up on garbage trucks and school buses. :lol:

You apparently know the programming procedures well but this RRWiki shortcut for programming the 2052 may be useful in the future..

BTW, this software is great for programming and remote operations/logging of the 2052. You'll be able to display a Text Tag with the ID during a transmission.

Frank: I appreciate your helpfulness and references. And you're not far off on the three hours! )I'm also retired, so time isn't a critical factor in most things these days.) It was well worth the time, though, as I picked up other scanning/programming tips. Thanks again ..... John
