I have a PRO-2052 for which I would like to use to access the VHF military air band. I live near Johnson Space Center and two air force bases/fields, and there is activity on all of the VHF military air bands here. According to what I have read, a modification is required to allow the scanner to receive AM in that band (138-144 MHz). Does anyone know how to perform this modification?

The 2050 is not the same as the 2052. The 2052 was built by Uniden, and is a cousin to the venerable BC895. I believe the 2050 is a cousin to the PRO-90, RS's first trunktracker. Don't mix mods and models...73 Mike

It does receive AM, depending on the band. It perplexes me, though, that as most aviation communications occur in AM (except for SSB on HF) that the military air band would default to FM. Strange, man!
