need to know if its possiable to modify this thing so you can get cordless or either cell phones freq.

You're not likely to get too many replies telling you how to do this, as it's illegal. Also, you're not likely to pick up your intended target due to the way most modern cellphones and cordless telephones work. Assuming you could receive the frequencies, the only transmissions you could monitor would be straight analog, and there's precious few cordless phones and an ever-shrinking number of cellphones that are analog only.
