the strangest thing, after downloading .p93 files and carefully locking out an entire bank and the selecting which ones to unlock, the ones that are locked out still appear unlocked? I lock them out because of the noise. when I try to manually lock them out the scanner will not let me? I tried ATT button but that only works on a few channels. How do I lock out a freq. that I can't lock out manually? I have attached the .p93 file

I'm trying to comprehend your problem here. If I remember right, on the 2053, you can't lock out every channel. Try unlocking all of them via Pro93. Reprogram your scanner with Pro93. Hit scan, when a channel comes up that you don't want....hit lockout. It should continue to scan.

You might explain your problem a little better....if you can. I know it's hard sometimes...i'm just having trouble understanding exactly what the problem is.

i have install the files via win93 with the files all locked out and was able to unlock them one by one. when i go back to lock out the one i dont want to hear (and it just so happens to say control channel ) because of the noise it by passes the whole channel completly. even when i do install the files with the noisy one locked out it still shows up unlocked. let me add that i converted the files from a .p95 file to a .p93. hope this makes sence.if not thanks anyways. the channel i was tryin to listen to is Fontana PD.

Try reprogramming your scanner via 93 with all the channels unlocked. and then go back through manually on the scanner and lock out the ones you dont want. I'll have to download the program again to see how it works. let me know if this helps...

why do you want to lock out the control channel? if you hear the control channel...then your scanner isn't programmed right. run through 93 again...and make sure all the settings are correct. Make sure the mode is set to whatever system you are monitoring... if it is Edacs...make sure the channels are programmed in LCN. Motorola, LCN doesn't matter.

What agency are you trying to monitor? Can you provide me with more information...maybe a link in RR.com?

Can you post your p93 file so we can take a look at it and see if we can spot the problem for you. Maybe one of us on the forum will see what is wrong.

just right click on the file and zip it then attach it to here

In manual mode you will hear the control channel as you click through the channels in a bank. When scanning if your scanner stops on the control channel then you didn't program it correctly. When correctly programed, it will not stop on the CC, but the scanner must be able to "hear" the CC for the scanner to work on a trunking system. No CC, no Trunking. :)

jrny99,

Perhaps not everyone is a member of that Yahoo group. Why don't you just zip and post the file here as requested. 8)

Lou , Jrny99

This is the file that he is talking about. If you have uploaded this file to the scanner as it is I don't see what the problem is for you. If you have added some frequencies to one of the banks we need to see what you did.

It sounds to me like I think Lou also suspects , that you are not in trunking mode

lets hope this works

Well I can't see anything wrong with that file at all. If you have not changed anythng at all from the way it opens in Win93 then it should be scanning in trunking mode as soon as you reboot the scanner.

When you reboot the scanner after loading it does it make the control channel noise, if so just hit the scan key and you should be scanning in trunking mode no problem.

Lou, you see anything there wrong?

Nope, but I also don't see any evidence of this "lock out all the channels" he was refering to.

I agree, if you load the file, just as it is, the radio will scan and trunk track just fine. Of course it will also be scanning everything which may not be what you want, so just (after you get it going) press the bank numbers you don't want to hear and toggle them off. 8)

Scnnr and Lou,
I'm sure you probably already know this but the 2053 automatically assumes that if there is a CC, that you're in trunking mode. Unless of course the mode (AM, FM, MOT, ED) is set wrong. If it is set on FM, it will scan it conventional style. MO or ED...it will trunk if it finds a CC.

jrny99,
can you describe the noise you are hearing? If it is static, then more then likely you are out of the area from the CC and which you will not be able to monitor.

If you hear a CC, then obviously you will be able to monitor only if you have all the frequencies for that system all set to MO mode.
