I have a Icom serial programing cable that I use for my IC-V8 and IC-208 Radios. I just purchased a pro -2055 and was wondering if that cable would work on the 2055 as well.

I searched the posts but found nothing very definitive.

Thanks

My idea would be If it uses the same plug as the 2005 , install the divers if AAny & give it try ... nothing to mess up?:)

oops prob no drivers for a serial cable, just plug it up & give it a shot

If you have the OPC-478 cable I would say probably not.

According to this site, both the TX and RX signals from the computer are directed to the ring section of a stereo plug on the OPC-478 cable. The programming cables for the Pro-2055 use the tip of a 3.5mm plug for the signals (both stereo and mono plugs work).

Use a stereo to mono adapter. It will work. Have done it with many of my Yaesu/Icom programming cables made by RT systems.
