I just want to know If I get the pro 2055 does that scan trunked and conventional channels at the same time?? Like the 97 and is there any mager difference between the too?? I want a desktop but I want it to scan both. Also I want it from radio shack. Also something not to hard I had gotten a 2055 once. and radio shack did not know how to program it. Also I did not relize It does not come with any software so I did not get it. So I will settle for a handheld. I really dont want to spend over 225.00 Plus I want the pc cable.sorry one more thing. What scanners could I actually play live over the internet so other people could here them. Thank's

The 2055 is basically the Pro-97 in a base mobile case. Buy the programming cable from www.greamerica.com, radio shack or ebay. Get the Win97 software from www.starrsoft.com and you'll be all set.

O, and the Pro-2055 is on sale at certain stores for $149.99 until the 24th I think. Do some checking around.

What kind of scanner from Walmart do you have?

I'd opt for the Pro-97 or 2055, as I have the Pro-97, and Matt has done a great job at listing some more info about it. You can check it out at his website http://www.scanningarkansas.com/

The Win97 software you can use on a free 30-day trial, and it's well worth it. Very easy to manipulate and change the data and import / export stuff. Makes managing the scanner and all those freqs much easier!

Plus it does a lot of trunking systems, as we have many different types here in Nebraska, LTR, Motorola, EDACS, and a few others, and so far I've been able to listen to them all.

One of the best features is the close call (signal stalker). Works great!

Good luck.

I want to take this opportunity to tell you quickly my experience buying through KLH, a RR member who works at Radio Shack in Indiana.

He was very helpful and generous. When fedex failed to pick up my USB cable from his store, he cancelled it, then sent it out next-day air. I got it the next morning, 2 days earlier than I would have previously. Then I received my Pro-2055 yesterday, 4 days after I placed the order. As I mentioned in another thread, it is brand new with date code 01A06! I love it!

Besides good service, KLH is giving a 10% discount to anyone while he still has them.

So with the sale you got....Scanner ($150.00) + USB Cable ($25.00)

Total = $175 - 10% = $157.50 + 6% Sales Tax = $166.95

No Shipping cost so grand total is $167

It's a steal, don't let it pass if you're considering buying either a 97 or 2055!!
