I was wonder what kind of an opinion people had about the Radio Shack PRO-2055 scanner. I am thinking about buying this model.

Good analog scanner....the alpha display is awesome. Dim feature is also nice for the light if its mounted in your vehicle like mine is. PC interface is also a MAJOR plus as far as programing is concerned. With the Don Starr's software (www.starrsoft.com) its very easy to work with. I would also buy the USB cable when purchsing the scanner to save yourself a trip back to the store...you'll definitley want it.

Good Luck!

It is an excellent non-digital scanner. However two things to consider. That model has had numerous failures of the display panel. So if you're considering buying one, and keeping it more than a year, you may want to consider the extended warranty. The other issue is that once re-banding of the 800MHz spectrum takes place it your area, it may have to be sent back to Radio Shack to have the system board replaced. Some have indicated this will not be covered under warranty and is expected to cost approximately $50.00 plus shipping both ways.

I just bought the Pro-2055 and I can not stop raving about it! It has great sound with the speaker located at the bottom of the scanner. I recently bought the Pro-97 to be the tag team to the 2055 and they both have great receptiom
