Is anyone using a PRO-2067"A" model? What is the difference in this one?

I was under the impression that all PRO-2067's were version 3.25 firmware, but the manual at Radio Shack is dated 05A00 and has Cat. No. 20-196 A on it.

"A" and 3.25 are the same. I have one each, A and a B 3.28, both work the exactly the same. I also have a V1 Pro-92, which works a little different and receives I-Calls.

The only difference in the 3.25 and the 3.28 is the units with the 3.25 firmware were made in Japan. The 3.28 models were made in China.

Fmon do you have two versions of the PRO-2067?

Are you talking about the PRO-2067 or PRO-92?

I know about the PRO-92: original firmware version 1.0, subaudible (Low Speed Handshake) method of Motorola trunking, made in Japan.

PRO-92A: Version 3.25 added control channel method of trunk tracking, removed LTR data burst in open mode, made in the Japan.

PRO-92B: Version 3.28 SAME weather message text change, made in China.

I was talking about the PRO-2067. Is it just because the 2067A is made in China or did it also include 3.28 firmware?

I guess there was never a version 1.0 PRO-2067??? My first one was 3.25.
I know that most of the guts in the PRO-2067 were pcboards and even metal frame from the PRO-92.

Yes, my second 2067 is a $69.00 closeout and apparently had been previously owned and upgraded to 3.28 then returned. Both are fixed installed in our two cars. Blow up my avatar for a view of one installation. You are correct about the construction, the boards are Pro-92. Also, I think the 2067 is only manufactured with 3.25 firmware..

I just got an excellent, practically new in box, PRO-2067A and I checked the firmware. I was surprised to find version 3.28 with a 03A01 date code on the box, and "custom manufactured in China for Radio Shack Corporation, Fort Worth, TX 76102" 8)

Hey, question on the Pro-2067. I'm looking for a scanner that will decode CTCSS/DCS quickly and easily program to existing channels. Will this one do the job. I understand it may not be top notch at trunking due to lack of sensitivity at 800 MHz, but don't care. Would only use it for conventional as I have others to do the trunking. Just want one good at decoding, with text tags and decent sensitivity in the 150-170 and 450-470 range. Thanks for any feedback.

Yup, this radio will do instant CTCSS/DCS and VH/UHF bands very will. It's not a bad trunking scanner either, 400 or 8/900.

THANKS FRANK, THAT THE KIND OF FEEDBACK I CAN USE. I'M SURE IT WOULD DO FINE IN MY HOUSE FOR THE SPOTSY EDACS (AT LEAST UNTIL IT GOES PROVOICE! :( ). WHILE I DO HAVE A 780XLT FOR THE HOUSE (SOON TO BE REPLACED BY A 796D IN MY TRUCK) THAT CAN DO TONES, I DON'T LIKE THE WAY THE UNIDENS DO TONE SEARCH. SO LOOKING FOR SOMETHING THAT IS A LITTLE QUICKER ON THE DRAW WITHOUT HAVING TO GO INTO PROGRAMMING TO SET IT TO SEARCH.
