pro 2067 and 2096- programming from computer need help!

I bought the interface serial cable for both scanners and I plug it in and the scanner screen doesnt change. I tried to use with win92 and win 95 nothing works please help!!

What was the part number of the cable you got? 20-289 is the correct Catalog number for the Radio Shack cable.
