Hi
I'm pretty much a noob to scanning. I listened to my local police and highway patrol on the internet and got sick of listening to eveyrone all at once and not being able to follow one agency....or even one conversation. So i looked into getting a scanner. I wanted a PRO 106 but since every radio shack in the region is sold out so i got the last 2096. The thing is, in my area (northwest ohio lucas/wood counties) they have gone all digitial with few exceptions. I want ot listen primarily to OSP and Toledo Police. I'm gonna get the programming cable tomorrow because i'll tell you what, manually doing things, especially as a noob, is pretty hard. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

P.S. is the stock antenna adequate or should i invest in a new antenna?

You are going about this the best way. Program cable and win96 from starrsoft.com also the best way to pay the fee become a prem member and load your scanner directly from the RR database goodluck and enjoy your new scanner.
